John Ferneley secondary school

Our design for a new 800 place secondary school building and associated landscape to replace the existing John Ferneley High School in Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire, was completed in April 2010.

The design proposals set out to produce a school that would be an exemplar of sustainable design and construction. This ethos informs every aspect, from its orientation on site, to the selection of natural materials and the use of natural ventilation, day lighting techniques and landscaping concept.

The building achieved a BREEAM 'Very Good' and EPC 'B' rating.
